How many among us feel
disillusioned, sad and rejected by others.
People
can do so, but not Jesus.
He went on the road with his disciples into Samaria.
It was quite a hike.
In the meantime, someone in Samaria felt completely
ostracized. Most people come to the well in the morning. It was not that hot
in the morning and people liked to talk with one another.
However, this Samaritan woman, came at midday, when
the heat is at its hottest. She didn’t want to be seen. People would laugh
of her. Why endure this!
Now this becomes very interesting, Jesus came on time
while this Samaritan was getting water. No one else was there. It was Jesus
and the rejected Samaritan.
“He (Jesus) had to go through Samaria on the way.”
John 4:4, NLT
It is not the Samaritan that invited Jesus. It was
Jesus that came to her. She was in need!
Jesus asked: “Will you give me a drink?” John 4:7
The Samaritan was surprised. No one ever talked to
her and no one would even ask anything from her. Especially, Jesus was not a
Samaritan, he was a Jew. Samaritans and Jews would never talk to one
another. It didn’t top Jesus to talk with that woman. People are people.
This Samaritan, although she had done many mistakes
was now talking with Jesus. What Jesus said changed her life.
Jesus will come out of his way, to reach you as well.
It is His nature. He loves people!
I would recommend to read John 4:1-42. The ostracized
woman was not alone any longer. Jesus was with her, for eternity.
Last time we asked how God sees us.
I have sinned and have done so many mistakes. I am a
failure. Let us go back the the Samaritan. She had sinned a lot and made
many mistakes and still Jesus is talking to her with genuine love.
Our heavenly Father sees us through Jesus. Jesus gave
his life to save us. Our Heavenly Father sees us through the merits of his
death and resurrection. All we need is to accept His offer. We are
automatically His or Her son or daughter. He is nuts of you. He will avoid
you. He loves you!
“For God did not send his
Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
(John 3:17, NIV )
That is His nature. He
loves genuinely. “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you.
Now remain in my love.” (John 15:9)
“But I am not religious!”
God is not religious either! He cares. He loves and
he listens to us. We are never alone.
"I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons
and daughters, says the Lord Almighty." 2 Corinthians 6:18
You are loved, not ostracized. Our heavenly Father is
with us forever.
